Hello everyone, I am Siska Redman, international Music Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist living in North Somerset UK. I am lucky to share expertise in clinical work, including stroke rehabilitation, helping individuals after accidents with neuro rehabilitation and those people who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
I am a native German who studied Music Therapy for four years at the prestigious College in Heidelberg. This training was focused on hospital work collaborating with Heidelberg Medical School. I was very fortunate to be working alongside other teams in Neurology (Duesseldorf and Wiesloch and Soltau).
I held a private practise in Fredericton/ Canada, spend many years supporting children in special education and was employed for Barchester Healthcare for 15 years. There I learnt how team approach is vital when serving clients and how to give exceptional service.
Since February 2024 I run a small private practice on the Somerset / Dorset border near Sherborne UK, support clients in their homes and online.
Neuro rehabilitation is my passion and so is working in a capable team with the elderly population in a small selection of high quality care homes.
I am passionate about innovative ways in Music Therapy to make a real difference in people’s lives. The wealth of effective techniques in Neurologic Music Therapy is bringing about great results for clients and is underpinned by research. Please ask for specific research papers and I will gladly provide you with the correct information.

Neurologic Music Therapy® (NMT™) is a standardized evidence-based clinical treatment system of 20 techniques that is driven by advances in applied auditory music neuroscience and the clinical understanding of music perception, production, and cognition.
NMT™M drives measurable outcomes in motor, speech and language, and cognitive rehabilitation.
NMT™ works on functional non-musical skills through structured musical interventions to address rehabilitative, adaptive, and developmental goals.
NMT™M Professionals work in a variety of in-person and Telehealth settings, including neurologic rehabilitation, neuropediatric, neuropsychiatric, and neurodevelopmental.

ABI is brain damage caused by events after birth, rather than as part of a genetic or congenital disorder. ABI can result in cognitive, physical, emotional, or behavioral impairments that lead to permanent or temporary changes in functioning.
Sensorimotor Techniques within the NMT™ System use rhythm, melody, and harmony to cue and support movements to improve walking and mobility.
Speech and Language Techniques within the NMT™ System use singing, playing of wind instruments, and rhythmic cues to support the rehabilitation of speech.
Cognitive Techniques within the NMT™ System use structured active and receptive musical exercises, discrimination of components of sound, and improvisation and composition exercises to address a variety of cognitive functions.
